Superior Hiking Trail
More than 300 miles of adventure await you...
…on the Superior Hiking Trail, a path hugging ridges overlooking Lake Superior from Duluth to the U.S./Canada border.
Maintained by volunteers with the Superior Hiking Trail Association, the trail takes you through beautiful forests, across babbling streams, and over some challenging climbs & descents.
Dozens of first-come/first-served campsites can be found along the way, along with the occasional pit latrine. Don’t hike the trail if you’re not comfortable with the “leave no trace” lifestyle. Pack it in, pack it out. Take only photos, leave only footprints. You get it.
Wildlife abounds, so if you go — and you definitely should — be sure to read up on respecting the creatures of nature… and securing your food!
