Myre-Big Island State Park
Every season is State Park season . . .
…and this is exemplified at a place like Myre-Big Island State Park. Located in Albert Lea, near the crossroads of Interstates 35 and 90, this park offers recreational splendor for snowmobilers, cross country skiiers, and snowshoers alike.
A two-hour tromp around the shoreline of the “big island” itself brought forth great beauty, solitude, and one heck of a cardio workout. And don’t worry if you don’t own your own snowshoes — the park office rents them for just $6 a pair for the day.
